It's October 1st

Don't ya'll think it's about time to turn off the a/c in the house? I mean really it should be time to at least turn it off. Maybe I don't need to turn the heat on but can I at least turn the a/c off? No you say? Why? Because I live in Texas you say? And just because it's 61 degrees when I wake up doesn't mean that it isn't 94 fucking degrees by 4pm yeah, I still need the damn a/c on, how stupid is that. Does any one remember when it is around here that we get to turn the a/c off because I can't friggin remember. It's been too long since I've had the thing off. Sad but that is the price we pay for living in the state of Texas, where we can afford to own a house and have a decent cost of living. Gas today costs about $3.29 a gallon and we don't have to drive all over town to find a station with that price and don't even talk to me about those poor souls in the south that have no gas in their stations. That's just criminal and I'm appalled at that state of affairs. I could start a whole different blog about how shocked I am at the government's behavior and the state of the nation's economics/politics but I won't. It isn't worth my time or energy, the bastards.

In the meantime I will bitch about the fact that I am not so patiently awaiting fall that is so slow in arriving. Hello autumn? This is Texas calling, we are here and you aren't. Could you move it along please? It's still fucking hot down here and my a/c is tired.

I SO know what you mean. I lived in and around Houston for 13 years. We have had our windows open for the past 2 weeks. I actually got cold last night but nothing the pulled up covers didn't take care of.

I am sooo jealous our gas is $3.65 a gallon! We haven't had our AC on in weeks...It's a scorching 58 degrees here today.

Snow belt dear, snow belt. I don't like the snow belt. I lived in Maryland for too long to be able to handle going back to that kind of weather!

Well there is something wrong with me then--I have actually turned the AC up higher. I think to make the fan run so I can sleep---it is only supposed to be 48 overnite, but I still have the A/C on.

Maybe I should rethink this

this has been my biggest complaint since moving here. I am so done with the weather. No seasons just hot/cold. No fall, no spring. My bill is just insane this summer-we will probably be paying on that until the next summer! I hate the heat and then having to sit out in it for 3 or more hours while the boy plays football is torture. I love him and want to see him play but damn can we say basketball?!
